Preorder your own personal Reformer loops! The loops can be used on the Reformer or Cadillac for all during both group classes and private sessions. Simply bring the loops with you to the studio and swap out the studio loops for your own loops before class starts. Your instructor can help you with setup and guide you in making sure you have the correct length or deciding between short and long loops if you have the double loops! 

You have three great types of loops to choose from: double padded, single padded, and basic single loops. The double loops resemble those used in the L+L studio. With the double loops, you get the convenient option of using the shorter or longer loop, depending on the exercise. The single padded loops give you the enjoyment of extra cushioning during your workout, and the basic single loops provide all the essential elements you need in a loop at the most affordable price. All loops can be used easily during classes!

These loops come in a variety of color options so you can pick your favorite! The padded loops add extra comfort during your exercises and are made with eco-friendly sweat-proof padding material. All loops are made with nylon webbing, which makes them easy to clean with soap and water or in your washing machine.

Joseph Pilates once said “Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness.” This message is especially important today. While the COVID-19 virus has made us close our doors, it has not stopped us from connecting with our community and continuing to do the thing that makes us feel amazing, Pilates! Virtual Private Sessions

If you are looking for more personal instruction and feedback, we continue to offer our signature private and duet sessions virtually. Each session will be designed specifically for your needs and goals and your instructor will guide you through movements and adjust your form so it is safe and effective for you. If you are new to Pilates and would like to participate in our group classes, setting up a private session first can help you prepare and get the most out of your class. Your instructor will assess your posture and movement habits, discuss your health history and goals, and suggest any modifications that you may need to make in your group classes.

Outdoor Pop-up Studio

We are taking our Fundamentals + Mat Teacher Training online! The training will follow the same format as our normal Fundamentals + Mat trainings, it will just occur 100% virtually via Zoom. You will receive both a PDF and print copy of the Long + Lean Fundamentals and Mat manuals, 20+ hours of virtual instruction from L+L owner Hayley Sullivan, plus ample time for supervised practice teaching and review.

This is an amazing opportunity to receive the unique blend of classical + contemporary training that Long + Lean offers at a discounted rate, no matter where you live!  After the training you will know effective cueing techniques, fundamental and restorative exercises, how to work with special populations, how to assess and address common alignment issues, and the ins and outs of all of the classical Pilates mat exercises.

Live Streaming Pilates Mat Classes

Starting Saturday March 21st, we are offering live streaming Pilates mat classes through Facebook Live. We will have live, full length classes streaming daily in a private Facebook group for you to enjoy as they happen or come back to at your convenience!

Access to the videos will be available via the private Facebook group. To join the group and participate in our live stream classes, you must purchase our new Online Membership for $45. The Online Membership gives you one month of unlimited access to all of the classes streaming daily. We will assess renewal options for the membership as needed.

In the Mindbody store, select the service category Small Group Classes, then Online Membership-Access Livestream Group. If you are unable to access your account through Mindbody or have any concerns, please contact us and we can call you to discuss your options.
  2. Make sure you have a Facebook account (you can make one with a fake name if you want!), then request to be added to the Long + Lean Pilates Online Studio private group. If your Facebook account name is something other than what we have in our system please let us know via email or Facebook messenger. 
  3. You will receive a follow-up email confirming your purchase and addition to the group, and will give you further instructions on next steps.

We’re excited to announce that we’re teaming up with Summerville Fitness for another workshop! This class, led by Christina Summerville (PT), will focus on foot health and teach you techniques to alleviate foot pain, build strength and mobility, and better understand the deep connection between your feet and the rest of your body.

Our feet are our foundation – they’re strongly connected to the rest of the body, but are often overlooked, overworked, and painful. Luckily, Christina Summerville (PT) of Summerville Fitness has designed a workshop that dives deep into all aspects of foot health. In this workshop, you’ll:

  • Learn how your feet are interconnected with the rest of your body (focusing specifically on the hips and core)
  • Practice standing and walking to counteract the negative effects of the modern lifestyle
  • Discover useful techniques to help with bunions, plantar fasciitis, heel pain, hip pain, knee pain, and back pain
  • Perform exercises that help to build better arches in your feet and improve the strength and flexibility of your hips, ankles and feet
  • Learn massage techniques using Yoga Tune Up® Therapy Balls to help improve pliability, coordination, awareness, strength and circulation of your feet
  • Learn the benefits of going barefoot and wearing minimalist/barefoot shoes

About the instructor: Christina has been practicing as a physical therapist for 24 years.  She is the only health care provider in the Buffalo area that is certified in Neurokinetic Therapy ®  (NKT) Level 2. Using NKT she finds dysfunctional movement patterns and helps correct a root cause of pain that may go unidentified by other practitioners.  She also incorporates her knowledge of Yoga Tune Up ® , MELT Method ®, and trigger point therapy in her sessions. Christina’s passion is to help active adults  & teens get out of pain so they can return to their favorite sports and activities, without resorting to medications or surgeries.
