We are excited to announce that we will begin offering Private + Small Group Reformer Classes inside of Hive Lifespan Center in East Amherst! Classes and private sessions will begin July 11th, and there is no membership required!

When the opportunity presented itself to move into Hive, it was a no brainer! The facility is amazing with gorgeous bathrooms, luxurious locker rooms, a clothing boutique, a smoothie bar and the independently owned Spa 400. Long + Lean at Hive is equipped with 4 Reformers, a Pilates Chair, Jumpboards, and a Tower. Long + Lean at Hive will have all the offerings of Long + Lean Elmwood Village including Reformer+ Classes, Jumpboard Classes, and Private and Duet Sessions.

Just like Long + Lean Elmwood Village, classes at Long + Lean at Hive  are all about you! Your practice with Long + Lean always begins with an analysis of your alignment, physical health, and goals.  Your workouts are then tailored specifically to you and your objectives. Long + Lean Pilates workouts are rooted in the Pilates method developed by Joseph Pilates but also incorporate other forms of exercise including strength training, Yoga, and restorative exercise techniques.

Long + Lean Pilates 30 Session Challenge“In 10 sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 sessions you will see the difference, and in 30 you will have a whole new body.”  Joseph Pilates

 

Pilates is a transformative practice that can truly change your body to make you look and feel your very best. As we set our goals for 2016, it is important to remember that consistency is key, so we’re encouraging you to commit to your workout and complete 30 Pilates sessions by March 1st. Once you complete those 30 sessions, your body will be completely transformed!

All clients interested in participating in the 30 Session Challenge will receive a Long + Lean Punchcard. Every time you complete a class or session, we’ll punch your card! Once you complete 10 sessions, your card will be entered in to a drawing for a $50 gift certificate to Long + Lean Pilates to be used for more sessions or apparel!  Complete 10 sessions by March 1st and you’ll get one entry in to the drawing. Complete 20, you get two entries; complete 30, you get three entries (and a whole new body)!

To boost your motivation even more, we’re discounting all package pricing options! From January 1st through January 15th, all Private, Duet, and Small Group Class Packages are 15% off. Discount is valid for any first time customer or anyone buying a package for a new service (if you usually do classes, your first Private Session Package is 15% off).

I like to start the day off with a smoothie filled with spinach, banana, frozen fruit and green tea matcha powder for an early morning boost. If I have time, I’ll normally make a piece of toast with avocado and two poached eggs.

Prioritize Exercise
Exercise is very important to me, which is why I went for my bachelors in Exercise Science and minored in Health and Wellness. Even though Pilates is my core, I also love to spice up my exercise routine from time to time. I absoutly love the outdoors, whenever I can I try to do any kind of activity outside to get the blood pumping and a dose of vitamin D. With winter upon us I try to get to the gym 3-4x a week or a few sessions a week of Pilates Jumpboard for cardio!

Stretch Every Day
Stretching helps increase range of motion, prevent injuries and overall keeps the muscles and joints of the body happy and healthy. In today’s world everyone is so busy that it’s hard to commit to stretching everyday. However, it really only takes 5-7 minutes to stretch all the major muscles of the body. I normally stretch when I first wake up or before I go to bed at night, in order to awaken or prepare my body for the day.

Enjoy Every Moment
In my mind there’s no point going through life without enjoying moments and indulging in cravings from time to time. Cheat days and red wine with dinner are what keep my health kicks going and my mind motivated!

Take Time to be Mindful
I take a few minutes before I fall asleep each night to be mindful of my actions of the day, make a note of what I’m thankful for and just take a minute to connect with my inner thoughts. This helps with stress levels, helps me fall asleep faster and just to be a better person when I wake up.

Long + Lean Pilates at Delaware Park

We are so excited to offer a complimentary Pilates Mat Class out on a beautiful summer Saturday in Buffalo! Long + Lean  Owner Hayley will teach an all levels Pilates Mat Class on the lawn at the Amherst and Colvin entrance of Delaware Park on Saturday, August 22nd at 9:00 am. The class will be an hour long and will focus on core strength and give you a full body work out. Come enjoy the beautiful weather while lengthening and strengthening your entire physique.  We will also be handing out $10 class passes for anyone interested in coming in to the studio! Please bring your own mat and water to keep hydrated!
